About Jim & Susie

Jim has been a full-time professional touring musician for more than 30 years and has 15 albums to his credit. He was front man with the world-renowned Old Blind Dogs for eight years and has been touring the USA several times each year since 1999. He’s a consummate performer, very amusing, with a warm mellifluous voice. He plays guitar and harmonica and performs traditional Scots songs alongside his own prizewinning compositions. Jim was Scotland’s Songwriter of the Year in 2004 and has been nominated three times for Scots Singer of the Year in the Scots Trad Music Awards. He has performed at the top folk festivals throughout the US and for everyone from the Scottish National Orchestra to the guests of Prince Charles at his Edinburgh Garden Parties in Scotland.

Susie also a prizewinning traditional folk singer and loves to harmonize with Jim. She is a tradition bearer for the bothy ballads of North East Scotland that she learned from her father, a Bothy Ballad Champion.

Their second duo album, Spring Will Follow On, was described as “A masterclass in Scots traditional singing”.

They will perform in Ann Arbor MI at the TeaHaus, 104 N. Fourth Street, on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7 PM.
